Vol. 7 No. 2 (2025): Horticulture
Volume 7, Issue 7.2 gathers nineteen papers of the Horticulture section of the Academy of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences "Gheorghe Ionescu-Sisesti", presented at the Academy's anniversary conference of 29 May 2025.
Vegetable growing is represented by bacterial biopreparations in pepper cultivation at VRDS Buzau, the yield potential of eggplant cultivars and advanced homozygous lines, phenological responses of pea accessions to climatic variability, anther culture in Solanum lycopersicum, and the effect of conventional and biological phytosanitary treatments on tomato fruit quality during storage. Fruit growing contributions cover spent mushroom substrate in orchard management, hail damage to plum cultivars in the Bistrita area, regeneration through organogenesis in plum and cherry, biotechnologies for propagating fruit rootstocks at RIFG Pitesti, the genetic heritage of RSFG Baneasa, and the suitability of blueberry and currant varieties for processed products. Viticulture and oenology are addressed through the immobilization of malolactic bacteria on alginate and natural polymer carriers, the impact of agrotechnical practices on vineyard biodiversity and beneficial entomofauna, and the distribution of grapevine Pinot gris virus and grapevine fleck virus across vegetation phenophases.
A further group of papers deals with the valorisation of horticultural by-products — biocomposites from red grape residues for soil fertilization and the use of red beetroot by-products — together with experimental research on multi-functional quick-freezing equipment, an analytical study of medicinal plant seedling production, and a survey of consumer opinions on agricultural biotechnologies.
Papers are published in English, with abstracts in English and Romanian.
