Vol. 5 No. 1 (2023): Field Crops, Natural Resources and Mechanization
Volume 5, Issue 5.1 brings together fourteen papers presented at the anniversary session of the Academy of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences "Gheorghe Ionescu-Șișești" on 25 May 2023, edited by the Academy's Field Crops section.
The issue reports breeding results and cultivation performance in the major field crops — wheat, maize, sorghum, soybean and triticale — drawing on multi-year variety and hybrid trials at the agricultural research and development stations of Turda, Secuieni, Teleorman and Pitești. A second group of papers concerns grassland and forage production: fodder quality on improved subalpine pastures grazed with dairy cows in the Bucegi Mountains, technological solutions for grassland improvement in the Făgăraș area, and the influence of applied management on a Dichanthium ischaemum meadow. Further contributions address weed control in wheat and grain sorghum, the impact of xenobiotic substances on the ecophysiology of broad bean, agricultural land use under degradation through gullies and landslides together with anti-erosion solutions, and a stress and safety analysis of steel frames for equipment fitted with curved profile digging spades.
Papers are published in English, with abstracts in English and Romanian.
